Shelton to play Shawnee casino
SHAWNEE - Oklahoma country music star Blake Shelton will return to his home state for a show next month.
The Ada native will play at 5 p.m. March 8 at the Firelake Grand Casino Events Center, 777 Grand Casino Blvd. The appearance, his second in as many years at the Shawnee casino, will follow closely the release of a collector’s edition of his hits.
General admission tickets are $25 and can be purchased by phone at 964-7263 or bought at the casino gift shop.
Shelton, who left Oklahoma for Nashville just weeks after his high school graduation, released his fourth studio album, “Pure BS,” last year.
Also in 2007, he closed Pryor’s Country Fever, played at the Oklahoma Centennial Spectacular and led the third-place “Team Oklahoma” choir on NBC’s reality show “Clash of the Choirs.”
His new single, “Home,” written and originally recorded by Michael Buble, was released Friday on Amazon as a digital single. It will be available digitally Tuesday at iTunes, Rhapsody and other digital retailers.
On March 4, “Blake Shelton: Collector’s Edition” will go on sale exclusively at Wal-Mart.
