Ckai Dawson is fast becoming one of the most recognized voices in the Oklahoma City area as a result of Shortt Dogg. In her six years as a member, the community has watched here grow from a young aspiring song writer, a focused and determined college student, and a sometimes shy background vocalist; to now an accomplished writer/performer, a successful college graduate, and an outgoing energetic background singer who is also capable of singing lead vocals from time to time.
Ckai is now a recent graduate of Langston University with a degree in English education and a minor in vocal music. She is an active member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority; also an active member and sometimes featured vocalist of the Concord Choir at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Recently she traveled to Memphis to try out for “American Idol”. Currently she is working on her first solo album and is also working toward performing in her first music video.
Ckai credits her accomplishments to the Lord and when asked what she wants for herself in the future she replies “What ever God has planned, but a Grammy someday wouldn’t hurt either”.
A Note: “I would like to thank all of those fans who have supported the band and me, over the years. Without you coming to the shows we would not have the motivation or drive to give you the best of us.”
