Shortt Dogg has established itself as being one of Oklahoma’s favorite dance bands. They specialize in playing the best in funky R&B, cool blues, and soulful ballads. Shortt Dogg’s repertoire includes songs from such legends as Stevie Wonder, The Supremes, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, and Duke Ellington.

Having performed before hundreds at the Edmond Jazz and Blues Festival, the Bricktown 4th of July Festival and the Charlie Christian Deep Deuce Festival, Shortt Dogg is poised to set the stage ablaze at the UCO Jazz Lab tonight! Jazz lab to host New Year's Eve bash
Hideaway Pizza to provide buffet; Shortt Dogg to play

EDMOND — The University of Central Oklahoma Jazz Lab will host its annual New Year's Eve party again this year.  Popular cover band Shortt Dogg will play, and visitors can enjoy pizza from Hideaway Pizza and a full-service bar while they dance.

 

Festivities will start at 8 p.m. Sunday with the pizza buffet running until 10:30 p.m.

Dancing will continue until 12:45 a.m.

 

Shortt Dogg plays anything from high energy R&B to ballads. The band has played at the Jazz Lab several times in the last four years and all but three shows were sold out.  Proceeds from the party will benefit the university's jazz program.

Great food, free health fair, free school supplies and more will be offered Aug. 18 when the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Inc. hosts its 12th annual Family Fun Fest at Washington Park, NE Fourth and Lottie streets. Tickets will be sold at the gate for $7 per adult, $3 for kids ages 4 to 12. Children age 3 and under will be admitted free. For more information, call (405) 424-5243 or visit www.urbanleagueok.org.

  Presented by Sonic America's Drive-In, the event will begin at 5 p.m., concluding with a performance from legendary R&B group Midnight Star at 9:30 p.m. Formed at Kentucky State University in 1976, Midnight Star began as a self-contained party band in the P- Funk/Earth Wind and Fire mode, quickly earning a strong live reputation throughout the world.

Opening for Midnight Star is “the southwest’s best show & dance band”, Oklahoma’s own Shortt Dogg. Shortt Dogg  has been featured in some of Oklahoma's most prestigious venues and festivals including the Bricktown 4th of July Festival, the Charlie Christian Deep Deuce Jazz Festival, The Edmond Jazz and Blues Festival, and the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts.
